🙋‍♀️ Flash-back at the 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 : 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭, 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 & 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 event organised by Agoria in partnerhip with Institute for the Equality of Women and Men, where FCE-VVB Belgium - Femmes Chefs d'Entreprises / Vrouwelijke ondernemers were present as partner. Focusing on an issue that remains as relevant as ever: 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉… 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝑰𝑻 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑.Even today, women remain under-represented in the technology sector. They account for around 𝟮𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝘂𝗺, and their presence is even more limited when it comes to setting up and running IT companies. 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, even as the need for innovation and digital solutions continues to grow.📍 The event highlighted a key point: beyond access to technical roles, it is also 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 and 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐈𝐓 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 that must be encouraged and supported.In this context, the role of 𝙁𝘾𝙀-𝙑𝙑𝘽 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙜𝙞𝙪𝙢 𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡. The network supports women entrepreneurs and business leaders, including those active in technology sectors, by 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 with a national and international network.🎯 Special thank to Rie Sordo, Vice-President FCE-VVB Beglium and President of VVB Flanders, for leading this project as IT professional woman who knows Agoria well ... and for her passionate and inspiring presentation, which served as a reminder of the FCE’s mission : to 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 and encourage their hashtag#leadership, particularly in sectors that remain heavily male-dominated, such as IT.💡 Supporting women entrepreneurs in tech is not an option: it is essential for building a more balanced, high-performing and sustainable ecosystem. Last but not least, thanks to Lisa Lombardi, Laurence Jacobs and Béatrice Delfin-Diaz for the good relationships over the past years. Also, thanks for our members who participated to this event and Arlette Atete , our new Treasurer, for the pitch of FCE-VVB. It was an enriching experience to take part to this event as partner.
